Since I no longer own a MacBook with an discrete GPU and Touch Bar, I am unable to develop this project. It will no longer be supported, but it should still work on older MacBooks with discrete GPU and Touch Bar.

You can easly switch between discrete only mode and dynamic mode by one click.

Please, where can I found out what mode it is in besides the color of the icon?

You can add an icon of gSwitch to the toolbar and set that depending on the mode this icon changes its appearance
