# follow mouse issue with overlays

hi - i have overlay apps such as monocle and paperman. the focus follows mouse feature seems to not work when these overlays are enabled. is there any way out to keep them enabled while also getting to use the focus follows mouse 🙏🏽

I have not tested with these apps, but can you check whether this option in 6.806 helps?

Do not use overlay apps in my setup, but in the previous version,  
"Focus Follows Mouse" did not work at all.  
Enabling the new option made it work in Version 6.806, but  
Also raise the focused window  
is behaving as if it is always enabled, regardless of the setting.

Device information:  
MacBookAir 2020(M1)  
macOS version:  
Tahoe 26,6,2

I am also experiencing the "Also raise the focused window" as being always on, regardless of its setting state, and regardless of the "Improve compatibility with screen overlays" setting state.

BTT version: 6.848  
Platform: MacBook Pro M3 (2023); macOS Tahoe 26.6.2

I will also add that I am very excited for this feature (auto focus without auto raise) to work, so I can stop messing with Yabai and AutoRaise. ...although I do like the Yabai BSP window tiling (hint, hint).
