Could you add a third option, similar to “leave it as it was last”?
For an app specific menu this would mean: If the menu was visible before I switch to another app, it will be visible again when I return to that app. And if it wasn't visible, it stays that way. Thank you very much!
Edit: Ah, of course it should still be possible to activate/deactivate the menu using a shortcut. But then it should remain as last selected.
