Float on Top Video Stops

Describe the bug

Video pauses when focus is lost in a floating window if said floating window is not in a screen corner (along 2 edges). Works fine when window is in a corner (along 2 edges) or extends beyond the screen boundaries. The video does not stall, but instead looks like the pause button has been clicked.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: M1 MBA
  • macOS version: 26.5.2
  • BetterTouchTool version: 6.639 (2026071310)

Additional information (e.g. crash logs, related issues, etc.):

I've tested with the floating screen on a single edge and see the same pausing. Doesn't matter what app gets mouse focus, so not tied to Chrome, Slack or Mail.

Tried to attach a video showing what I'm seeing, but apparently 256MB is too much.

some websites auto-pause on focus loss, maybe some weird interaction with that? Is it some common video website like youtube/netflix etc.?

I thought it was YouTube because the controls are so similar, but it isn't… Explore.org
