Escape key on the touch bar dosent work?

Describe the bug
adding the Escape key on the touch bar, when i try to use it it dosent work (for example to exit mission control)

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):
mac book pro touch bar 2018

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: mac book pro touch bar 2018
  • macOS version: mojave
  • BetterTouchTool version: 2.809

Additional information (e.g. StackTraces, related issues, screenshots, workarounds, etc.):

Note: Before bug reporting, please make sure you have the latest version of BetterTouchTool and that you have already tried to restart your system :-). If you encounter a crash, please attach a crash log from the macOS Console.app from the "User Diagnostic Reports" section.

Unfortunately mission control disables all custom touch bars. As far as I know there is no workaround for this yet.

Personally I have remapped caps lock to ESC. (In System Preferences => Keyboard => Modifiers)

Check out my thread here about this topic where I may of found a workaround that can be introduced in the future: I may have discovered a way to get the Touch Bar to work when using Mission Control
