I’ve mapped a specific mouse key (Button 5) to different actions based on specific apps. Recently, I’ve been using the trackpad more and would like a trackpad trigger (3 finger force click) to equal mouse button 5 and inherit all the actions… in particular as I built out more functionality.
the problem I’m having is that 3 finger force click can equal mouse button 5 but it does not inherit the automations I’ve set up.
Is this possible without recreating all automations for the trackpad?
BTT ignores mouse events created by itself to prevent various issues, so in this case you need to set up your automations for trackpad as well.
You can however right-click any of your mouse triggers (only one at a time) and choose "Convert Selected Trigger's Actions To Named Trigger"
Then you can use that named trigger from various places by using the predefined action "Trigger Named Trigger"
