I find my BTT - configuration settings windwo to be unresponsive to the extreme. When trying to edit a hovering menu it takes roughly five seconds for the app to accept new settings (for example a different colour background for the icons in the menu), sometimes it even takes far longer. This makes working with these settings awfully tiresome.
Also the settings just won’t remember the column width (i.e. left column / middle column / right column).
Does anyone have the same issues? Is there any help or mitigation?
Now - where might the images be hidden? AFAIK I only copied app icons from programs > app > cmd+i > select and copy app icon and then pasted it from clipboard into the app launcher…
Ok. I cleared all icons and then pasted them anew - all from the actual app icons (retrieved as above - select app in folder > cmd+i > select icon in information popup > cmd+c). Every icon is a good 10 MB in size. Now my preset is 124 MB (12 apps in launcher). It is now responding a good deal faster yet it still lags somewhat. It is more usable now though.
The select all the icons and convert them via Finder to a somewhat smaller size.
I will add some auto-optimize/resize option with one of the next versions!
thank you for the hint. Good to know about this possibility! When I open one of the pngs in Preview I see all sizes it comes in and can then delete the ones I do not need. But then I have to save it separately and put it back in to BTT of course. For now this is too much hassle for me but I will do it when time comes. Or maybe you will be quicker with your next BTT version
Anyways - I think you solved my issue. Thank you very much!
Hahaa, there is always something new to learn. I have never used quick actions (though I am on Mac for decades now)… no joke.
Just to add this: Batch resizing the images to size medium and then batch renaming them (stripping them of the text that was added by the resizing-action) drastically reduced the size.
