# Can't record Key Sequneces / Typed Words

When I'm trying to type a key sequence under **„Key Sequneces / Typed Words“** BTT just doesn't do anything. Seems to be similar to this post [0 Key Sequence doesn’t record typed letters (only records control, command, option, etc keys)](https://community.folivora.ai/t/key-sequence-doesnt-record-typed-letters-only-records-control-command-option-etc-keys-app-obtained-through-setapp/9560) because in one of my iterations BTT did record command, control, option...

Since this didn't get resolved I wanted to reopen the topic. Can anyone help me to solve this?

**Device information:**

- Type of Mac: Macbook Por
- macOS version: 10.15
- BetterTouchTool version: 3.952

**Additional information (related issues / workarounds, etc.):**

- Setting up BTT I had to activate the Keyboard Settings "always use old keyboard shortcut implementation". Don't know whether that's relevant.

this can happen if secure input is activated on your system. (BTT will show a note about it when clicking the menubar icon)

solved it: I hadn't activated BTT in my mac system settings under security → input monitoring :-/

ah, BTT should reset the input monitoring stuff when it starts (input monitoring is not necessary if accessibility permissions are given).

But maybe something got mixed up or the system didn't recognize the accessibility permissions.
