Cannot set a Remap Keyboard key trigger

Describe the bug

“Remap Keyboard Key” instantly resets when selecting the “To Key”. After selecting a “To” key, the option is deselected almost immediately. This means the user is unable to create a key mapping.

I believe I’ve given BTT all the necessary permissions in the Privacy & Security Window, including Input Monitoring (which was not prompted for by the app).

The complete permissions given are: Accessibility, App Management, Automation, Input Monitoring.

Note that this is on a brand new device and BTT is the first app I have installed  . I don’t have any other input monitoring tools like Karabiner, so a conflict is very unlikely.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):

If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem. (You can just paste or drag them here)

Once any key is selected, it’s near-instantly deselected automatically, so the state returns to the initial image.

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: MacBook Pro M5
  • macOS version: Tahoe 26.2
  • BetterTouchTool version: 6.413

Additional information (e.g. crash logs, related issues, etc.):

I have tried a restart and it did not help. I tried different key mapping combinations but the result is the same.

ah sorry, bug in the current build. I'll upload a new one in ~20min

Thanks for the quick fix.

The key remapping works nicely, however I just noticed another, very similar bug.

It is not possible to select a specific keyboard for the remapping, as the selection just resets like it did in the original issue.
