I've just spent maybe 3+ hours trying to figure out how to create a shortcut that toggles do not disturb and then shows it in a nice BTT HUD display. The Shortcut works but the only way I can get the HUD to display correctly is if use a copy to clipboard step in the Apple Shortcut - then reveal the clipboard in the HUD. I can't seem to use the {BTTLastShortcutResult}
but it should work.
do you have a return result step at the end of your shortcut?
I thought I did - that's why I included the screenshot. If not - can you please explain how I do that?
Andreas - I can't thank you enough! - That simple item was the secret sauce. I went down a deep rabbit hole building all of this with ChatGPT and while it's a wonderful tool to collaborate with - it doesn't know many tiny details. I must've spent 3+ hours on this yesterday and some today. It kept telling me to add something called Return Output which doesn't exist... amongst other wrong steps. We got close but kept getting 'Null'. Finally got it working via the clipboard but thought I would ask here. Not sure why I got so obsessive with this but it sure feels good to have it working and looks great with the sexy HUD in BTT!
yep, unfortunately Shortcut's structure is currently not well suited for being auto generated by ChatGPT. I think this will be improved soon because Apple has realized how important this AI stuff is.
I'm also currently in the process of making BTT much more accessible via ChatGPT & co.
Excellent! - I've had BTT on my Mac for years and barely use it outside of maybe 3 trackpad gestures to open apps. I recently discovered via some YT video about an app that just lets you assign the right command key for doing things... and the guy mentioned it can be done with BTT. I was like, WTF? - and voila - it's there. I now am insisting all of our clients in LA and NYC purchase this app if only for this feature! - I use the right command key + all sorts of letters to launch apps. They love it!!
One thing I did notice and am curious if you have a workaround is I usually install and do updates remotely for clients via TeamViewer - and I noticed I can't actually assign the right key probably because TeamViewer strips that specific data when triggered remotely so I have to adjust things when my client is back and working with me. Any workaround so I can do the assigning remotely myself?
