After setting up a configuration BTT suddenly started to restart in loop, crashing each time and consuming a crazy amount of RAM. While restarting, some app icons appear on the Touch Bar, but not the ones I set up. I wish I could copy the log from Mac's console, but I cannot paste a .txt file here.
Could you check whether there are any crashlogs in the macOS console app under user reports? (you can also send them to andreas@folivora.ai)
You can kill BTT completely using this terminal command:
killall BetterTouchTool && killall BTTRelaunch
Killing it doesn't really work during this restart loop. The only way to go that I found is to uninstall.

Ah it seems to be caused by one of the calender widgets.
Do you remember whether you added a custom display format here?
I wonder whether that contained '{icon}', because that seems to be the only way how it would run into that problematic code path

~/Library/Application Support/BetterTouchTool (the files that have 3.206 in them would be enough)
To open that folder use Finder => Go => Go To Folder
