BTT Mobile Testflight Beta

Great!, I was not aware of this ! Quickly scanning through it... looks very promissing.

The next build (will be released later today after review has finished) adds basic support for the iOS Shortcuts app.

It allows you to trigger named triggers on your Mac or run Apple Script & Java Script on your Mac.

With support for Shortcuts, you can use Siri to trigger BTT functionality or create some buttons on your home screen to trigger functionality on your Mac without opening the BTT Mobile app.

he funny,

the BTT Mobile app runs also on the Mac...
"issue" is to load an app specifc menu, as the BTT Mobile Mac app is always in "focused" and does not allow to select the specifc menu.
and needs authorized each time...

Hehe yes, it is not optimized to run on Mac. Maybe once everything is finished I can spend some time on that.

I like the shortcuts support in the new build, I can now create a dedicated home screen page for some important triggers. Not as fast as when run from the app, but nice for quite some usecases.

Great stuff! (and we can use Siri...)

I have thought I test this case:
create a Named trigger ("Show Tools") which switches to different Floating menu on the iPad (BTT Mobile) AND
create then a Shortcut on the iPad to use that...
The Named trigger ("Show Tools") works, but not once used in the Shortcut...(it shows a global menu, but not my app specify one...)

I know that might be a bit strange, but I want to use Siri to switch a menu in BTT Mobile on the iPad.

I think it should work, are you on the latest BTT alpha? Did you enter a server name or leave it empty? (if empty it will use the last connected one)

I am on 5.321 / 0.25. Server name was empty.

The shortcut "works", (changes variable etc)
but there is probably an issue with the "Show Floating menu option...action"

situation as follows: iPad shows my app depended menu ("Live") before using the shortcut (that should change to "tools")

with this option: "Device that send last Command" a global menu is showing (that was the previous menu), so something happens...

with this option: "All" the menu "tools" is now displayed (but only briefly :upside_down_face: ! ! ! ) and then the previous (global) menu is coming up again (without any action).

I guess the issue is with a menu for a 'specify app'.
The "Live" (app specify) menu never comes up automatically in the 'available floating menu list' or during a refresh / or even during new start of BTT mobile while Ableton is in front.

It only comes up when I switch apps briefly with "cmd-tab" to Safari and back to Ableton.

ah thanks for the details, I’ll fix that

@Max_Megalon could you check whether this works with BTT 5.322 alpha?

By the way, with this you can also use your Apple Watch to trigger some stuff in BTT via e.g. Shortcuts complications.

Next Testflight build will make sure this also can work while the phone is locked. (Unfortunately this means one more re-authentication with the Mac)

Great !!! The shortcut works now fine...

the follow is not yet working:
Ableton is open / BTT works fine and I exit to the overview like here (so far all fine)

now I close and open BTT Mobile again (the Mac side is untouched) and I get the below screen:
Note the focused app at the top is gone/empty (should overview not show the Live app at the top (and it's menus...)

the "cmd+tab" toggle will bring it back and I can load the menu (like in the first screenshot)

Cool, works as well (iPhone is unlocked, BTT Mobile is closed on here, triggered on iPad and changes menu on iPad...

can you make this more readable...

Just added Vision Pro support, this will probably be the least used feature because nobody has a Vision Pro, but it's working pretty well  Basically allows to place floating "Touch Bars" around the Virtual Mac displays

That looks awesome! I would buy the Vision Pro, but Apple won't let me. For some reason it is region blocked.

@Max_Megalon that Ableton setup is blowing my mind. I just installed BTT after years and it's nuts what it can do now. Have done some visual shortcut stuff with Mira Max ipad app and ableton, but these kind of dashboards are :flexed_biceps:. Nice work.

if you haven't seen it, this is also an interesting Ableton control rabbit hole GitHub - ahujasid/ableton-mcp

Thx for the info, there is so much nice stuff out there, like this free Open Stage Control tool to design some nice touch control surfaces (with OSC/Midi), runs in a browser (on iPad)...
a simple example (not mine),

but I have to agree with you on the BTT Mobile, it is real amazing...

I have an iPad 7 (2019) with the latest iOS and it doesn't show anything to enter the pairing code, but it triggers code generation on MBPM1.

that should work fine (just tried on a 2019 iPad), what do you see on the iPad? Are you running the latest BTT alpha (5.322) - and latest Testflight BTT Mobile build? (0.26) ?

All the latest. It shows nothing, just activates code generation every time I click on my Macbook name.

Maybe a firewall on the Mac that allows incoming but blocks outgoing requests?
