(version 2.428)
I bought my license few years ago and I acklolege it’s no longer relevant for newer versions but I bought a life time license which now cannot much support me. the BTT keeps on crashing, almost daily. I dont have any update to the older versions where my license is valid and I dont have any solution. theres an option of paying 25 eu but tbh I already paid for my license in the past and it wasnt a real part of the deal (that my BTT will become less functioning)
2.428 is super old (8 years), it will work fine on the old operating systems (that version was specifically released to support macOS Mojave) but for newer ones definitely upgrade to a newer version
thank you for the extremely quick answer! but I cannot updrade to a newer version. I dont have the license to it. I have a license that supports only older versions but they keep collapsing. thats ,my problem
Then your only option is to downgrade your macOS version to one that was available when that version was released (macOS 10.14 )
this or to buy a new license? the new versions allow maximising windows also at the notch level? I appreciate your response and help
correct, also in general the 2.428 version should not be used on an Apple Silicon Mac because it was not built and optimized for that architecture (because it was not available back then). It will cause performance issues because macOS will need to load the Rosetta 2 runtime.
Can you explain what you mean by maximize at notch level?
weirdly enough it wont maximize windows fully. only unter the notch and wont take advantage of the entire screen (my menubar is always hidden). I tried to program it better in my BTT but I failed to succeed. always underneath the notch. (even if I marked in the “get info” of every app I use to take advantage of the notch level)
Are you maybe looking for this option in macOS System Settings => Desktop & Dock?
yes it’s also marked but for some reason it’s always beneath the notch. I though maybe BTT can take over it and fit it underneath. not sure what else to do
You mean you want the window to go behind the notch? Wouldn't that be quite annoying as you can't see parts of the titlebar?
now there is an ampty row above the app that annoys me a bit (not allot) more.
in any case I just consider to purchase today a new license. (I cannot see myselft working on a mac w\o BTT)
Unfortunately the macOS API's do not allow to maximize windows to that area ;-( (only by dragging manually but even in that case not for all window types)
thank you so much for your availability
