I’m using the Normal Mouse Middle Mouse Button trigger for dual behavior:

- Actions Executed On Quick Click RELEASE → Middle Click
- Actions Executed On Drag Up (Continuous) and Drag Down (Continuous) → Start Smooth Scroll
- Actions Executed On Click RELEASE → Stop Smooth Scroll

This works great globally (Safari, Cursor, etc. feel perfect with higher Vertical Speed + Simulate Trackpad Scrolling + Enable Velocity Boost).

I then created an app-specific copy of the same Middle Mouse Button trigger under the Terminal app entry in the sidebar and lowered the Start Smooth Scroll Vertical Speed (plus minor Duration/EMA Alpha tweaks) so Terminal scrolls more slowly and precisely.

**Observed behavior:**

- Terminal now feels perfect with the slower settings.
- However, Safari, Cursor, and other non-Terminal apps become noticeably slower and less smooth than before, even though I only changed the Terminal-specific trigger.
- The global (For All Apps) Start Smooth Scroll values appear correct when I inspect them (higher Vertical Speed, Discrete Line Mode off, Simulate Trackpad Scrolling on, etc.), but the actual scrolling behavior in non-Terminal apps no longer matches those values.

It feels like the app-specific trigger is either overriding the global one more broadly than expected, or the continuous-drag Start Smooth Scroll parameters are not staying properly isolated between the global and app-specific triggers.

**Steps to reproduce:**

1. Create a global Normal Mouse Middle Mouse Button trigger with Quick Click → Middle Click, continuous drag → Start Smooth Scroll (higher speed), and Click RELEASE → Stop Smooth Scroll.
2. Confirm it feels good in Safari.
3. Add Terminal as an app-specific entry, duplicate the Middle Mouse Button trigger into it, and lower the Vertical Speed on its Start Smooth Scroll actions.
4. Switch back to Safari / other apps — scrolling is now slower than the global settings indicate.

**Environment:**

- macOS 27
- BetterTouchTool (latest / recent 6.9xx)
- Wacom Intuos tablet with Pro Pen 3 (top button mapped to Middle Click in Wacom driver)

Happy to share screenshots of both the global and Terminal-specific triggers or export the relevant preset if that helps. Is this expected behavior with app-specific mouse button + continuous drag Start Smooth Scroll, or a bug in how the settings are applied?

Thanks!

ah this was caused by a caching issue. Should be resolved in 6.943!
