Action "Show / Hide Specific Application" with Finder with send CMD+N does not work

Describe the bug

  • Left Option + F assigned to "Show / Hide Specific Application" with Finder and the option "Send CMD+N if no open windows" is activated
  • I have multiple desktops in my setup, but I expect this might be irrelevant to the problem
  • launch Finder via spotlight
  • In Finder: make sure under "windows" menu no other finder window exists
  • Launch Calculator via spotlight
  • Enter the above assigned keyboard shortcut to show/hide finder
  • No new finder window appears
